LPG, CNG, PNG prices today (April 16): Check latest city-wise rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and more amid global energy concerns
LPG, CNG, PNG Prices Today (April 16): Concerns around LPG, CNG, and PNG pricing persist amid rising geopolitical tensions. The US decision to withdraw the sanctions waiver on Russian and Iranian oil along with a blockade on maritime traffic linked to Iran after failed peace talks has added fresh uncertainty to global energy markets.
LPG, CNG, PNG Prices Today (April 16):For India, which relies heavily on imports, these developments are significant. The country sources over 40% of its crude oil and nearly 90% of its LPG requirements from West Asia, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar, making domestic prices sensitive to global shifts.
Commercial LPG prices have already seen a sharp uptick. In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg cylinder increased by ₹195.50 to ₹2,078.50 from April 1, driven by a 44% surge in the Saudi Contract Price from $542 per tonne in March to $780 per tonne in April. However, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged.

Supply Update
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has assured that LPG supplies remain stable across the country and urged consumers to avoid panic buying. Authorities said the distribution network is robust and inventory levels are being closely monitored.
Meanwhile, the Indian-flagged vessel Jag Vikram, carrying 20,400 metric tonnes of LPG, recently reached Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat, after passing through the Strait of Hormuz during a temporary ceasefire window. It is among several Indian vessels navigating the region amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
